Play Safe With Fireworks On New Year

But all you need to do is to keep certain things in mind that would help you play safe with fireworks this New Year. I'm sure you remember the incident of fanfare of holiday weekend in 2005, when the three firework experts experienced some painful days in hospital after being victimized by a fire accident during the fireworks displays in Priest River and Liberty lake.

Let's not let the advent of New Year 2008 pave a way to the burn unit of a hospital. Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time but precautionary measures lessen its possibility. So play safe . Here's some tips that can come to a great help while playing with fireworks this New Year.

Abide by the Basic Safety Rules:Knowing and abiding by the basic safety rules guiding the use of firework is what's really important. This would ensure a really blasting fun while welcoming New Year 2008.

Using legal fireworks: Use of some fireworks have been banned and are illegal. The consumers fireworks, which include smokers, sparklers, general firecrackers,etc. are called "DOT 1.4 G fireworks", which have been legalized by the federal law. You cannot use the fireworks that falls under the category of "DISPLAYS" if you're not from a recognized professional firework association.

Making fireworks at home: Making of fireworks at home is again illegal. Doesn't really matter whether you know the formula of making a fire fountain and rockets, you can use your home made fireworks unless they are tested by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). It's only after CPSC's approval that the fireworks become legal.

So while purchasing fireworks for New year make sure that you are purchasing the right product -- approved by Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Notice to local fire station: It's mandatory to give a prior notice to the local fire station about your fire show with every details including location of the show, date and time.
